“Comfort ye, comfort ye My people, saith your God. Speak ye comfortably to Jerusalem, and cry unto her, that her warfare is accomplished, that her iniquity is pardoned: for she hath received of the LORD'S hand double for all her sins” (Isaiah 40:1-2). ***** All Things Decreed Author: Isaac Watts Tune: Amazing Grace 1.There's not a sparrow nor a worm But's found in God's decrees; He raises monarchs to their thrones, And sinks them if He please.

"All things are for your sakes." 2 Corinthians 4:15 The great and glorious God, when there was only He in the Trinity of His sacred persons, decreed to create a universe, and in this universe there would be one spot where He would put some creatures He would call man. These creatures would rebel against His authority and die to any fellowship with their Creator. Now God, foreseeing this rebellion purposed to give new life to a portion of mankind, called the elect. God the Son, our Lord Jesus Christ, gave Himself to purchase that life. He gave His life for them by the shedding of His blood. He redeemed all those whom the Father gave Him. The great mystery of all this is that God planned the whole thing and ordered "all things for your sakes." Yes, if you are God's own, purchased by blood, all things in this world are for your sake. Every marriage, every child born, every war, every sickness, every germ, every death, every invention, every raindrop, every disappointment, every trial, every persecution, every blessing, "All things are for your sakes." This causes profound worship in my heart to think that the majestic Sovereign of all should plan the whole thing for me. In our scripture all things for us leads to the highest purpose. ". . . the more thanksgiving may increase and redound to the glory of God" (AMP). He raised us up and gave us all things for His eternal glory. "That in the ages to come he might show the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus" (Eph. 2:7). Oh, eternal wonderful truth of the great God. We are overwhelmed to the point of sitting mute before Him. Believe it, saints, and rejoice in all things because "All things are for your sakes."--Pastor Jack Shanks ***** “Christ is All” “Where there is neither Greek nor Jew, circumcision nor uncircumcision, Barbarian, Scythian, bond nor free: but Christ is all, and in all.” Colossians 3:11: He is the first cause and the last end of all things; in election, salvation, redemption, calling, righteousness, regeneration, and glorification. He is all in the salvation of His people. Salvation is of the Lord. He is all in election; we are chosen in Him, He is the Elect (Isaiah 42:1). He is all in redemption; He obtained it with His own blood (Heb. 9:12). Christ is all in our calling; He called us with a holy calling (2 Tim. 2:9). Jesus Christ is all our righteousness: He worked it out for us as our advocate (1 John 2:1). He is all in our regeneration; He quickened us when we were dead in sin (Eph. 2:1). He is all in our final glorification; " He raised us up together and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus," (Eph. 2:6). All our spiritual blessings are in Him and from Him (1 Cor. 1:30). --Pastor Donnie Bell ***** One Sacrifice for Sin! “For then must He often have suffered since the foundation of the world: but now once in the end of the world hath He appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of Himself.” Hebrews 9:26 The Old Testament sacrifices could never take away sin, they cried “it is not finished!” Those sacrifices all pointed to the One who would take away the sins of His people! “And every priest standeth daily ministering and offering oftentimes the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins:” (Hebrews 10:11). The Lord Jesus Christ is the One who came to be a sacrifice for sinners! “But this Man, after He had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God;” (Hebrews 10:12). The Lord Jesus Christ, the one true Sacrifice for sin, the Savior of sinners cried “it is finished” upon the cross and give up the ghost. Beloved of God, there is nothing to be added to or taken away from His sacrifice for our salvation. Salvation is complete in Christ, and we who believe are complete in Him! Praise His mighty name! --Pastor Wayne
