“For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.” Ephesians 2:8-9 *****

***** Like a Child “Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter the kingdom of heaven” (Matt. 18:3). One of the wonderful and amazing things about little children is their implicit trust and confidence in their parents. They only need a simple statement or promise from Mom or Dad as the foundation of that trust and confidence. Lengthy explanations are not required nor asked for. Simply make them a promise and sincere belief and trust springs up in their hearts. How is this manifest? They follow Mom and Dad around, living on that promise, continually reminding them of it, and awaiting its fulfillment! Is not that the way the children of God live before their heavenly Father? “These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off, and were persuaded of them, and embraced them, and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth” (Hebrews 11:13). --Maurice Montgomery ***** How Do We Know? How can we know whether we have gone, not only from ignorance to knowledge, but also from knowledge to submission? It is primarily revealed in this: we cease from establishing our own righteousness before God. We glory in nothing other than Christ's cross, soothe our conscience with nothing but His blood, and rest our hope for favor with God on nothing other than Christ’s acceptance before the Father. --Pastor Joe Terrell ***** Free From the Prison Cell of Sin “I the LORD have called thee in righteousness, and will hold thine hand, and will keep thee, and give thee for a covenant of the people, for a light of the Gentiles; To open the blind eyes, to bring out the prisoners from the prison, and them that sit in darkness out of the prison house. I am the LORD: that is My name: and My glory will I not give to another, neither My praise to graven images”(Isaiah 42:6-8). In religion and in Arminianism, man is locked in a prison cell of sin, but the handle is on the inside and only he can open the prison cell up. They have a god who is on the outside knocking to get in. A god who has no power to save unless you let him, this is not the God of the Bible. The truth is, man is bound up in sins and locked in a prison house; a dungeon called sin with no way of escaping and no desire to escape. The door is sealed shut with no handle on either side. Man is hopeless and helpless in such a state. But beloved of God, we have a God who is stronger than the keeper of this dungeon called sin, one who is stronger than Satan who is the master of the dungeon of sin. The Lord Jesus Christ who is ruler of ALL! Who is KING over the vast domain of what we see and what we don’t see. God Almighty himself, the one who rules as King Supreme, became a man and took our sins upon Himself and paid the price to set us free. The door which held us and the chains which bound us has been smashed to pieces by the almighty power of God in Christ who has ransomed and rescued His people from our sins by the shedding of His precious blood! The believer in Christ is set free having all their sins and iniquities forgiven! Oh, what a Savior of sinners is Jesus Christ our Lord! Sinner friend we pray that God would make you willing to flee to Christ He alone is the savior of sinners! How do we know? We who have been redeemed are sinners saved by the Grace of God in Christ plus nothing else! Praise His mighty name! --Pastor Wayne *****
