Synergistic Sanctification?
by Scott Price Many will take verses from the Scripture and string them together to support a conditional perseverance, not in the gospel but in this progressive holiness with the use of the Law.
Just one of many key verses they use for this is - Matthew 5:20, "For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, you shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven."
They say this is not the righteousness of Christ imputed, but it's their personal righteousness that grows, which they say is initially imparted in a new nature that enables them now to obey the Law far better than the scribes and Pharisees, exceeding their righteousness. Smells like Synergism.
