Their remedy is to merely "get it done" by walking through the procedure of the so-called "sinner's prayer".
BUT what has taken place in the mind of these BEFORE they walk down the aisle? What did they hear in the message BEFORE their "decision"?
Obviously not the gospel or they wouldn't be trapped in this method.
The true message that contains the key to salvation (the truth of HOW Christ saves sinners) is missing.
They are missing the gospel of an effectual, sufficient, accomplished death. They are missing the basics of imputation of sin to Christ and propitiation (satisfaction of Law and justice).
They may hold to eternal security but on what grounds? It CANNOT be the death of Christ because they believe their christ died for many who will end up in hell.
Their view of eternal security is based on this activity THEY performed to access salvation through their prayer and that is where their assurance rests. (salvation conditioned on the sinner).
