The Proper Object of Faith
It is the OBJECT of faith that justifies, NOT faith ITSELF. The proper Object of faith is Christ and Him crucified. The Object of faith is what one glories in and has assurance in. Faith does not look to itself. That would merely be another religious idea that comes from man, not God. Is Almighty God powerful enough to get it right in the giving of true faith? Of course He is. All the Father gives Christ will come to Christ through God-given faith and He will not cast them our nor forsake them. God is particular about where His people look, as to the object of faith. His name is Jealous. He will not share His glory with another, even YOU. The honor and glory of His character and truth is more important than you are. Look to Him, not yourself.
