1Co 8:1 "But concerning the sacrifices to idols, we know that we all have knowledge. Knowledge puffs up, but love edifies. 1Co 8:2 And if any man thinks that he knows anything, he knows nothing yet as he ought to know."

The word of God has nothing positive to say about ignorance. Ignorance, as some would imply, is not humility. Ignorance breeds doubt and lends to a lack of assurance. When it comes to God and the gospel - ignorance is DEATH (John 17:3, Romans 10:1-4). Do a word search on, both, ignorance and knowledge in the Bible and you will soon see what I am saying.

Many times in conversations about doctrine and theology of God's word and gospel you will see people often rushing to the above text and they often follow it up with other ideas about mystery and how things in so many things God has revealed in His word cannot be explained. They go further and say that if you think you can explain them then you must be proud, haughty and hateful, a doctrinal Pharisee and only interested in intellectualism. These same people say we believe with our heart and not our mind, as if the mind was messed up and the heart was okay (see Jer 17:9). What they are really doing is making a separation between the mind and heart to give excuse to promote mysticism and ignorance. Do the word search as I suggested.

This idea of being puffed up in the context is showing that true believers CAN and sometimes DO have the attitude that does not reflect humility. We are told to speak the truth in love and to be patient with people. God says He is the One who makes people to differ in what they know or don't know. Nobody invented the truth. It flows from God and He alone is the Giver of it.
