Back on the farm we always kept a few chickens for eggs and meat. We could feed them on a little corn, but mostly scraps from the table. Every now and then one of the hens would get ready to set. Now when one decided to set we had to give her ten or twelve or more eggs to set on for there weeks. In three weeks most of the eggs would hatch. Sometimes Mother would say, “I do not have enough eggs saved up to put with that hen, so I will fool her by putting one or two porcelain door knobs under her to keep her from giving up until we save the real eggs.” Those old fashioned door knobs looked exactly like hen eggs and mother hen was deceived. The only problem was, “Those eggs won’t hatch.”

The knobs looked real but they would never produce a chicken. Satan in our day has a million ways to deceive us humans. He may tell us that money will make us happy, and sinful pleasure will satisfy our souls deepest need. But dear friend, let me tell you, “Those eggs won’t hatch.” He may paint you a beautiful picture of joy that comes from booze, beer, whiskey, wine and dope, but he is the greatest deceiver on the planet. “Those eggs won’t hatch.”

Satan may tell you that being a Christian is a bore and you can never be happy following Jesus, but you know he is a deceiver and the father of all lies. John 8:44, “…He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.” Smutty face is always trying to tell this human race that there are no consequences for sin and disobedience to God. But listen to the following scripture, Romans 6:23, “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”
