The word of God tells us that Jesus returned to Nazareth in his preaching and teaching journey to find a town full of unbelief. They doubted him, they were suspicious of him really being who he professed to be, and many missed their blessings because of unbelief. Just as today, the world is divided between belief and unbelief, saved and lost, redeemed and condemned. Matthew 13:58, “And he did not many might works there because of their unbelief.”

Hell is running over even now with people who would not believe God’s simple plan of salvation and accept him as their Saviour and Lord. Regardless of how great their sins were, they could have begged for forgiveness and received it freely. God has done his part when he sent Jesus to die on the cross to purchase your eternal salvation. He does not send people to Hell, but they send themselves there because of their own unbelief and rejection of him. Now the ball is in your court. You will accept him or reject him, one or the other. God did his part, Jesus paid your ransom and now you must receive this gift or suffer the consequences.

Even in our daily Christian lives we miss so many things because we do not even believe we could have the abundant lives as Christ promised. Jesus said in John 10:10, “I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.” We live beneath our privileges, don’t we? We live cap pistol capacity when we could have cannon capacity. We run around with a half empty cup when David said in Psalms 23, “…My cup runneth over.” In other words, he was filled with God’s Holy Spirit and some of us are running on fumes, trying to run on an empty tank. Why don’t we turn our hearts toward Heaven and just say, “Dear Lord, please fill my cup.” He’ll put a tiger in your tank!
