The example of unfaithful Gomer is an example of the unfaithfulness of Israel. Ultimately, the sin of Israle has infected all of mankind through the sin of Adam.
Even today, just as God Himself showed His kindness to an unfaithful harlot, He shows His faithfulness to us.
