Wow, in the midst of all the unbiblical truths about physical Israel, comes truth from Christian! The Israel God has in mind is not a physical but rather spiritual people. Jim Lincoln is preaching a gospel of works. I pray that he would spend more time in the word and not continue to quote fallen men as biblical authority. Christian Wow, Jim, Americans who support Israel are actually Christians? That sounds like we're adding something to the gospel: if you support Israel, then you're a true Christian... I think it's an important point that the believers living in the midst of the Israeli people, who witness the socialist government and anti-Christian religion of Judaism, come away not convinced that these are still God's chosen people. And I agree with them. The "Israel of God" is the body of Christ, including all those Gentiles ingrafted into the remnant of Israel because of their union with Christ, the Son of Abraham. That's what Romans 11 is all about.
Let's be real about this whole issue. Biblically speaking, the choice between Obama and McCain was never clear. So-called Christian evangelicals tried to make the case for McCain, but there was no biblical validation for voting one man over the other. Both men support abortion (although McCain only in the case of rape or incest (it's still murder)), and both men are okay with "gay unions" As a Christian, I do not believe that it is possible for us to elect a true believer into the highest office of the land. Without fail, he or she will compromise the clear teaching and truths of the bible for their own political advantage. Consequently, the economy and how we relate to the rest of the world was the essential issue in how I voted.
I will pray for this president as the Bible commands us to do. Something I have always done as a Christian.
