John UK wrote: If there are no converts after a suitable time - shake dust. How long is a suitable time? Most of us would have given up a long time before Adoniram Judson. Most of us would have said providence was directing us to leave-'Judson and his wife went to Burma, where they worked for six years before winning a convert. During those years they were plagued with ill health, loneliness, and the death of their baby son. Judson was imprisoned for nearly two years, during which time Ann faithfully visited him, smuggling to him his books, papers, and notes, which he used in translating the Bible into the Burmese language. Soon after his release from prison, Ann and their baby daughter, Maria, died of spotted fever.' If you think the above is a one off, then Missionary William Carey spent 7 years before his first convert. Some have a habit of seeing the flaws in other churches from a long distance, but appear no more than a vain proud critic thinking they know the answers. Maybe John's church is the exception with many new converts and the gospel thundering through the town with open air preaching and Satan stirring up hostility amongst the local inhabitants? Or maybe not. Shake dust or persevere as a faithful church? |

Jim Lincoln wrote: It's a guess what John Y, is. He's definitely not a Christian because of his intemperate speech, James 3 5 So also the tongue is a small part of the body, and yet it boasts of great things. Behold, how great a forest is set aflame by such a small fire! 6 And the tongue is a fire, the very world of iniquity; the tongue is set among our members as that which defiles the entire body, and sets on fire the course of our life, and is set on fire by hell. (Colossians 4:6) Let your speech always be with grace, seasoned, as it were, with salt, so that you may know how you should respond to each person.---]]NASB. John Y., no one is going to accuse you of being a Christian And Catholics consider you a heretic, ]]Doctrinal Smorgasbord?, even the Catholic Church doesn't accept that idea that you push. Glad someone has the biblical courage to tell John Yurich the obvious. I wonder why JY hangs around sermonaudio as who else holds his heretical views no one |
