We are to tell the sinner of his deadly condition, sin. For those who are then convicted and broken over their sins, now we tell them of the love God has, so much so that He sacrificed His only Son for them.
Have the Arminian camp read how Christ called His disciples? Matt. 4:18-20 "As Jesus was walking beside the Sea of Galilee, He saw two brothers, Simon, called Peter and his brother Andrew. They were casting a net into the lake, for they were fishermen. "COME, FOLLOW ME" Jesus said, "and I will make you fishers of men". At once, they left their nets and followed Him. {also verse 21-22 concerning James and John}.
Notice Christ is the one who hand-picked these disciples, they did not approach Him or follow Him until He chose them. This is what God's word teaches, He will have mercy on whom He chooses...the hang up is many want to claim this as Calvin's teaching, but he was simply saying what God already has said. |
