“ Great Sermon! ”
Wonderful message for the saved and the unsaved alike! Miles did not talk about the plan of salvation, but about the Man of salvation, because salvation is not following a plan, it is meeting a Man, trusting and sheltering in Him!

The Gospel and our Theology

This week I might unintentionally ruffle a few feathers. That is not my purpose; rather I want, by the following article, to once more urge us to a full return to the Gospel. Thank God for sound doctrine and theology--may they increase and flourish. However, our theology, no matter how pure it is, is not the Gospel. The Gospel, rather, is about the God/Man, Jesus the Christ. It is about the invasion of time and space by God manifest in the flesh. It is about His doing and dying on our behalf. And this gospel is already full; it is perfect and finished; there is nothing in it that should be out of it and nothing out of it that should be in it. Thus, although good doctrine and theology is vital for our growth and stability, it cannot and must not become our High Priest and supposed acceptance before God.

I don't know about you but I really do need a priest. I need a priest who will never fail, one whose sacrifice is perfect, one who's intercession for me is flawless. And I am so glad and thankful for the grace of God that gave me the priest most suited to the needs of this wretched sinner, Miles McKee. This priest of mine, The Lord Jesus Christ, accomplished my salvation when he was wounded for my transgressions at Calvary 2000 years ago. It was then that He ransomed, redeemed and reconcilled me. By grace I have recevied His accomplishments on my behalf by faith alone. I am now puzzled as to why some earnest and religious people think that something needs to be added to His perfect and finished work.
