The last time I approached her about studying the bible, saying I was very concerned about her spiritually, she responded, "Oh, don't start talking about God again", as if she found Him offensive. Maybe one day she'll come around.

My friend Lurker is trying to be polite, as usual, by allowing the offenders of rule #3 to consider rule #3 without calling it out specifically.
Commenting from a smartphone or tablet, using the app itself, allows for consecutive posting, of which, I'm probably the worst offender. Nothing malicious or intentional, really,, but coupled with my big mouth, and forgetting about rule #3, well, I guess it's not fair. Might forget once in a while, but will work on that.

Yet read a revival report in a town called Rochester in the early 19th century with thousands of converts, even the whole city. One biographer glorifies the 'facts' but TIME told a far different story.

It is better to wait before evaluating the work of God in revival, for there will always be good fruit, evidenced in time.

Then examine the 'gospel' that manufactured revival numbers and the revivalist preacher

The Psalm speaks of the LORD's work of Redemption and His Coming with all of creation anticipating and responding. And then, the first verse of the 99th Psalm says,

"The LORD reigns, let the people tremble;."

Everything that God says has a reason. Of course you agree.

But, the question is: Why did God say, "A thousand years is as a day, and a day, as a thousand years?" when talking about the new heavens and new earth and coming judgment in 2 Peter.

Since we know that God exists eternally, there is no need to clue us in on that with a direct correlation between 1 day and 1,000 yrs.

He purposefully, said, "One day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as a day" for our understanding.

In Daniel, speaking of the time of the end, Scripture says, "In the latter days, you will understand."

I think God intrigues us with the depth of His Word and the riches that He unfolds to us over time.
