The word of God is not confusing. If it is, it is because of a wrong interpretation.

If Christ died only to make it possible "that all COULD be redeemed" how can we be sure that any WILL be redeemed?

If you will read John chapter 10 honestly, Christ there identifies those for whom he laid down his life. He calls them His SHEEP (vs.26). It speaks of others who could not believe. Why? They were not his sheep.

I believe if you would also read the first seven verses of Ephesians you will clearly see who "had forgiveness of sin through the redemption that is in Christ".
