I don't seem to recall the scripture that teaches we should appeal to Ceasor to use his power to force the ungodly to help out the poor and opressed. Is this not the job of the church?
I have met few christians who hate homosexuals. They hate sin. There is a difference. By the reasoning of this article I could justify my stealing by claiming to be a kleptomaniac.

Yes, the church in the wealthy west should send Bibles to the poor. But many christians throughout history followed Christ without one. Many could not read it if they had one. We who can read and own Bibles are blessed indeed.
The concept of self evident truth pre-dates Jefferson. Its roots are in English common law, the writings of Blackstone and Locke to name a few. It stems from the Christian worldview that God has set before man life and death, begging us to choose life. Thus making religious decisions a God given right, which government has no right to take away.
Not that I would be one to claim to be near as enlightned as Osama, Jewish mixing with others does not negate them being Jews. There was intermarrage by Jews before Jesus was born.
