@Biblesays If I understand correctly, Frank doesn't think that a Christian would ever run for office. I personaly disagree, but that's his position and why he doesn't think any of them are Christian. Just to give you a heads-up! |

@Frank You're welcome! I simply thought that would give his statements context, since his mother, who helped his father with her talents., was his example of Strong Womanhood. I don't agree with Women working outside the home, but I do understand that there are Christians out there that do. One thing I greatly appreciate, which I think you'd agree on, is his stand against Drafting Women into the Military! He's the only Candidate left with that position, unless some of the others have changed their minds with out my knowledge. Have a Blessed Day! |

@US Thank you for the reply! How went the mowing? I was actually quoting 2 Sam. 23:3, where David records that the Lord told him that "... He that ruleth over men must be just, ruling in the fear of God.". Both Matthew Henry and Gill say that the Lord is referring to magistrates of all levels there and see no problem applying it to the British Government. Exo. 18:21 says almost the same thing, in the context of Moses useing those guidelines for selecting men to settle disputes. As has been pointed out before, the Founding Fathers thought that NOT using Exo. 18:21 to vet those we vote for would be tantamount to treason! So, we have two places where the Bible outlines the traits and duties of a good civil leader. And those who set up our Government thought those guidelines should be applied in the USA. To date, the lesser of two evils road has only taken us further and further to the left and has normalized positions that would have been unthinkable not long ago. Right now, Hillary is the worst candidate- but if we keep going at this rate, she will look Conservative 20 yrs. from now. Better, IMO, to draw the line where Scripture does than wait till we have to choose from a Euthanasia supporter or a LGBTQ Republican who supports Abortion on demand. ... |

... Not only did he not say anything about his son- he wasn't even talking about politics! He says that ALL Christians are called or "anointed" into 2 categories- "Priests" who are called to Spiritual Ministry (Pastors, Elders, Deacons, etc) and "Kings" who Glorify God in the Marketplace (Plumbers, Carpenters, Business men, etc.). Therefore (unless you're in the Ministry) he is saying YOU Penny, are a "King"! Now, I greatly disagree with the host pastor's Theology, and the host pastor did say at the end that he could see Ted as a future SCOTUS Justice or VP- but Rafael Cruz did not even mention his son once. For context this was at a Texas Church in 2012 after Cruz had already won the GOP Nomination and was thus a definite shoe-in as Senator. Please, be more careful what you spread around! Spreading lies about a Brother in Christ shouldn't be taken lightly. "Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbour."~ Exo. 20:16 |

... You spoke of history. We owe our Freedoms to a host of Christian Statesmen who, at horrific personal loss, stood their ground. They did not create perfect Christian utopias or force mass conversions- they passed individual documents, overthrew or restrained tyrants, and inspired others who obtained more success than they could. Every single document from which we inherit our freedom (The Magna Carta, The Declaration of Arbroath, The Mayflower Compact, The Fundamental Orders of Connecticut, The Declaration of Independence, The Constitution, etc.) is the direct legacy of one or more of those Christians. Where would we be if they had decided not to let their beliefs influence their policies? They were all working under "secular worldly systems" and were hated, abused, and sometimes killed by those systems- yet they still, in God's Providence, were able to obtain lasting benefits for us, their progeny. They didn't make the system "sacred", but they did use their position to God's Glory. All from simply doing "the will of God in their lives". Nothing more- nothing less. P.S. Saying that there is a Principle (Exo 18:21; 2 Sa 23:3) ain't the same as proclaiming "I Am Principled". A principle is something outside yourself- an objective measuring stick. You can disregard it, but l |
