Campbell stumbled on the correct answer inadvertantly.

The first ever Papal visit 27 years ago was admittedly "historic".

This visit is not. It simply follows inexorably from Basil Hume's "Reconversion of England" - which was exactly what Newman was aiming at. How very appropriate in an abominable sort of way.

No wonder some churches have worship services on Saturday evenings.
A possible Saturday evening service perhaps? -
"And upon the first day of the week, when the disciples came together to break bread, Paul preached unto them, ready to depart on the morrow; and continued his speech until midnight."

Midnight on the first day of the week would have been on a Saturday night. So, is this a Saturday midnight or a Sunday midnight?

I hold to a first day of the week Sabbath.
Perhaps they should stop selling alcohol on Saturday nights

"It would be the second hereditary succession ..... "

Any similarity to christian ministers living or dead is purely coincidental.

No, just "compelled" to appear to wear sackcloth. It's still okay to go to conferences in Tucson.

"Gary Read, headmaster of the school, said Jasmine had "frightened" a seven-year-old pupil by telling her that she would "go to hell" because she did not believe in God. "

Well done to 5 year old Jasmine, and those who have taught her the truth.

"But her email message found its way to Gary Read, the headmaster of Landscore Primary School in Crediton, Devon, and she was told to "stay away" from work as an investigation was launched into her actions. "

On a micro level this seems to be more of a simplistic case of "my way or the highway" from the headmaster.
Pastors and Bishops of all theological persuasions are good at that too!

"Brazilian Government Says 99% of Citizens Are "Homophobic" and Must Be Reeducated"

Nonsense.

Read all the books on business and you will see that 99% of people are afraid of change.

No one is afraid when things stay the same.
Homo (=same) phobia (=fear).

34% say they do not know what caller id is,
55% said even though they don't know anyone in "Maryland" they still take the call just in case it might be something important or if they might have really gotten a free cruise,
10% hit the spam button on the weekly sermonaudio email even though they voluntarily signed up and they still download sermons.

Much like [John MacArthur / Insert any theologian/pastor of your choice] .... ?

For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.

As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:

In my previous visits to His home, He's told me He's seen/visited/gone-to HELL 6 times (on assignment from The LORD Jesus).
Doesn't look to me like you believe your Bible at all given your implied approval of this nonsense.
"And beside all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed: so that they which would pass from hence to you cannot; neither can they pass to us, that would come from thence."

Your "JV" seems as plausible as Johnny Vegas.

I don't know why the Conspiracy Crowd post at websites like this one if they really believe their own rhetoric. For all they know, it could be a New World Order phishing operation to backtrace the location of dissenters.
Why? Because they believed Neil's previous ironic post.
The NWO and Jesuits have already got their personal details from the secondhand books they buy off Amazon so, by logical fallacy, sermonaudio.com must be safe.

I have a hard time thinking of price-controlled utilities as capitalistic.
Also note: "This (limiter) is supposed to regulate the amount of electricity he was using, but still allow enough power to run the furnace. Obviously, it didn't work."
That's right. A truly capitalistic company would install a prepayment meter and let the 93 year olds "disconnect themselves".
It provides the needed plausible deniability.

Anyone got a 50p piece they could lend me?

gg, You make light of this sin, bringing up the number of overall priests and stating out of that number, only 4 have done wrong! You who claim to believe in Christ, yet think it's no big deal when sin is exposed. You defend it by comparison. You are a product of corrupt theology, false doctrine, and loyalty to man. You are blinded by the very doctrine you claim saves, yet, by your words, you reveal what really lies inside. What does 'a new creation in Christ' mean in the RCC doctrine?
Excellent comment Enough Already. Also your further comment "Let us never gloss over the grievous acts of sin, no matter where it comes from. "

The tragedy is in these days there is no difference between the RCC and Protestantism when sin is exposed.

Neil wrote:
"who actually thinks clerics are beyond reproach?"
I have firsthand experience with "Protestant" churchgoers who believe the Pastor is always right (both ethically & theologically).
I second that. The precise words were
"I wont hear a word said against my pastor" - to evident acclaimation of more than half of the church regardless of the documented evidence.

May God send his gospel forth to replace hearts of stone with hearts of flesh!
