A few years ago while having the oil in my car changed, a man who was also waiting on his car proudly bragged to me that his daughter was moving in with her boyfriend that day. I was so shocked at his joyful mood I couldn't even speak and just stared at him. But sadly, many men are no longer serving their families as protectors. Even if one isn't Christian, why would a young woman give herself away to a man without the legal benefit of marriage?

Lady Virtue is lovely and has Biblical standards... IMO, she is a wonderful role model for single Christian women and even married ones like me, too!

I have never met Lady Virtue, but she is a true sister in Christ and her worth is far above that of rubies. I agree with her comment and only wish I had the alertness to have written it first. Iron sharpens iron and Lady Virtue helps keep us all sharp!

I'm glad to know about these products and appreciate SermonAudio carrying the story.
I try to either boycott or rarely purchase items that promote/support what God calls an abomination. There are so many other choices in the store or places to shop that Christians really shouldn't have any trouble finding alternatives.

I hope and pray her parents promptly remove her from the anti-Christ gov't school. A child's faith is precious - please don't let swine trample her pearls.

I'm not the first to point out the hypocrisy of Obama in acting as though he is outraged at the murder of innocent children and infants when he is bosom buddies with Planned Barrenhood and NARAL. Sorry, but his speech rang hollow in my ears. But I was glad I only wasted 15 minutes listening to him.

Planned Barrenhood's conscience is seared and as a result, they have no righteous code of ethics. They are murderers and liars. May the good LORD shut them down, I pray in Jesus Name, amen.

I wonder if this pastor is part of the "holiness" movement that has a strict dress code for members? Some folks go to extremes in what they consider to be modest clothing. My grandma was into this and made my mother and aunts dress in floor length, long sleeve dresses even in the heat of summer! OOOPS! I clicked on link to see the dress and if this isn't some sort of joke, then it was quite inappropriate for a church wedding - maybe the couple should just go to Vegas instead!

Pres. Obama is a foreign policy disaster... IMO, he has done more to spread hatred of America abroad than any other president.
May God deliver us from this man and his followers - quickly!

once and for all: You do not know what denomination, if any, I am part of...And there is nothing wrong with churches protecting their integrity and conscience by writing a constitutional by-law regarding performing only Biblical marriages.

The congregation should change their by-laws regarding the Biblical definition of marriage not only to protect the church, but also their pastor. The church I belong to recently did this - the vote of the congregation was unanimous.

Perhaps the congregation should call out this pastor for spiritual abuse and then show him the door.

I think the comparison of Catholics and Charismatics stems from both groups adding works to the gospel message. The Catholics believe good works are required for salvation and the Charismatics add their own works of speaking in tongues, etc. The Reformed faith relies on God's grace alone for salvation.

Mainline Protestants have become apostate. They don't believe in the inerrant Word of God and they have embraced lies as truth. They are also taught that abortion isn't morally wrong and they send their false prophets called "Clergy for Choice" to the death camps to support and encourage women to abort their children.

In my experience as a pro-life activist (20+ years), we always rejoice when a woman changes her mind regarding aborting her child. And this holds true whether it is standing on the sidewalk in front of an abortuary or volunteering at a pregnancy resource center. Plus, many of the pro-life women have previously aborted and frankly are the strongest voices calling out to women to change their minds. They certainly wouldn't condemn anyone who had also aborted in the past. I think it is more an extremely small minority of pro-lifers who judge or condemn post abortive women - not the majority. They want to spare the woman heartache or needless pain from an abortion. Also, I am of the mind that one does not need to share their past with others - especially if you feel pressured or uncomfortable doing so. Seek your peace from Christ through prayer and His Word. And as I stated earlier, seek out a Christian nouthetic (still not sure about the spelling) counselor.

Dear MS,
I was not raised in a godly home and didn't attend church regularly as a child, and I've never felt as though I was looked down upon by any Christians since receiving Christ as an adult. Instead I was warmly welcomed in the body of Christ and gently instructed how to live the Christian life. Of course I've had my share of disappointments and have had to search out truth. I just can't imagine true Christians treating others as you and the author of this article describe. I think that if you find people acting like this in a church, you should look for another one because they aren't acting like sanctified people.
In response to Walter: the caller into the radio program probably isn't born again. Please don't confuse Christian pro-lifers with unregenerate people. Why should a Christian be embarrassed because an unregenerate person calls into a radio talk show and says something stupid?

Perhaps I should elaborate a bit more on my comment: We are ALL sinners in need of mercy, grace and forgiveness. I know of NO Christian who condemns a woman for prenatal child-killing before their conversion to Christ. But we also cannot undermine the slaughter of innocent children by being afraid to speak the truth because it might offend a woman who had an abortion before coming to Christ. I suggest women who struggle with their past immerse themselves in the Word of God and if possible, seek out a Christian or LCMS post-abortion counselor who is familiar with nouthetic (SP?) counseling like Jay Adams. Also, I advise you to listen to Kevin Swanson's latest program on this: Why Christians Get Abortions and Divorces - Abortion in the Early Church - http://www.sermonaudio.com/sermoninfo.asp?SID=88131822460

Hey folks, We've all sinned, but the reality is most folks (unless they are children) know within their hearts that they are taking a life. I don't think this article really helps the cause. I spent too many years standing in front of abortuaries begging parents to spare the life of their unborn child; they know what they are doing. As long as we continue to emphasize the humanity of the child, we'll win this war.

Well, I think a theologian can best answer your question; but IMO while acknowledging we are sinners, in a Christian marriage or where one spouse is an unbeliever and the other a Christian, God's grace is always at work. But this doesn't mean that neither party sins or doesn't need direction on how to incorporate God's Word into their lives. People are going to sin, but if a Christian man abuses his wife, I have to question if he really is in Christ or perhaps is just a good church attendee.
