Either we have the Sovereign GOD of the Bible who from eternity past, chose who would and who would not be saved according to His pleasure, reasons, and His own counsel, or we have deified men and women who can deny the Almighty, manipulate His will, and then by our finite human reasonings and standards determine what is ‘fair’ and how to approach Him. Carnal man always wants to claim a portion of the finished work of Jesus Christ on behalf of His elect sheep, for himself, by saying a little sinners prayer, walk an isle, weep at the altar, take the preachers hand... But he is separated from God by sin, and can in no way apart from the exacting intervention of God, be saved. That makes us who are His sheep, rejoice and be the most grateful folk on the planet, and tell others of this great Gospel of free and sovereign grace. |

Lady_Virtue wrote: I was going to suggest burning, too, but you beat me to it, Sister MS. Most of what is out there and being promoted by Lifeway and so called Christian bookstores, would not be missed if the whole lot of them were burned. Always good to see you posting Sister L_V. |

Wayfarer pilgrim wrote: Gentlemen; Repent! Confess your sins before God, then; Go into your wife’s closet, find the books by Beth Moore and toss in a goodwill box. Best place to start. Then, start family devotions with the family, pray unceasingly and sing hymns to the top of lungs. Take back your home! Be the Christian leader God placed you in charge of. Except burn the BM books That sorcery should never find it way into anyone’s hands. |
