Some are confused about what the Scripture's purpose is. It doesn't save without first a work of the Holy Spirit. Consider this well written and brief thought by our brother for a moment.

A very searching question which we must answer with the Word of God if we truly call ourselves Bible-believers. Otherwise we simply join the ranks of the religionists who interpret God's Word according to the whim of the day.
This is an excellent book on the history of the true churches of Jesus Christ. When it comes to discerning true churches and the history one must have a keen Bible-based knowledge. This is certainly not what most will be taught in places of higher education.
