Well, we have now come to the second last fruit of the Spirit, of Paul's list and one he calls gentleness. And when we think of gentleness, we often associate it with things like kindness or meekness, that gentle softer side of people in our interactions with them in our daily life. Things like a kind smile, a warm gesture, a soft word.
We may think of those soft and gentle things in nature, a delicate flower, the warm sunshine on a cool morning, a gentle breeze on a nice day. When we think of the gentleness of God, we may think of His goodness, His kindness of the comfort He gives us when we are feeling down. Or those encouraging words of Jesus when He says;
Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. |
