I begin this message by asking the questions that are on the back of your outlines, the first one is 'is there gentleness in the world? and the second, 'are the people of the world gentle?' And when I ask such questions, we must remember that when we talk about the world, we have to keep in mind that we are talking about that lost realm of mankind, that realm that does not know God and those who do not believe in God, or in the good news of Jesus Christ. And while keeping that in mind I also ask you the questions; 'what is the purpose of gentleness in the world? Or a more interesting one as the last question asks; 'why would the world want to be gentle? Well, if you can, pencil in some of your answers in what you think they are or make a mental note of them in your head, because we will revisit these at the end of the message.
