In the Beginning - Lesson 21 - The Floodwaters Recede - Genesis 8:1-19. After 150 days the flood reached its peak and the waters began to recede. We are told that "God remembered Noah, and every living thing, and all the animals that were with him in the ark." This was a show of mercy, not as if God had forgotten them. On day 227 of the flood the ark came to rest on the mountains of Ararat. On day 300 Noah could see mountain tops. As the earth dried out Noah waited, and even after it was dry, he did not leave the ark until God spoke to him and told him it was time to go out. The flood, from Noah entering the ark until he got off, took 354 days (1 lunar year). The worldwide evidences of the flood are astounding!
