I hate being put on HOLD, but it happens all the time. What can you do when on hold? And what can you do when God has placed you on HOLD, when you are spending time in God's Waiting Room. From the experience of the apostles in the Upper Room, we should obey the commands we already know, seek out fellowship with others believers, and devote ourselves to prayer. But we should also use the waiting time to study God's Word. For God offers guidance and direction through His Word, And as important as it is for us to talk with God in prayer, it is more important for God to speak to us through His Word. We should also use this time to take care of unfinished business such as the apostles did with the defection and death of Judas. Someone needed to take his place. And therefore they used the waiting time to prepare now for their future. Matthias was appointed to take Judas' place, thus filling his leadership void and making it possible for the disciples to sit on twelve thrones in the Messianic kingdom. So, in God's waiting room, we should obey the commands we already know, seek out fellowship with other believers, devote ourselves to prayer, spend time studying God's Word, take care of unfinished business, and prepare now for the future. In this way, waiting time is not wasted time!
