H.C. Questions 60-61 – Righteous by faith in Christ – Sermon Outline Intro: Faith receives Christ and all He has done for us. Faith is not a reward or meriting salvation, but a mouth that feeds upon Christ and His benefits. And God must open our mouth to feed on Christ in faith. Need: Christ gives Himself to us by working in us, and leading us to receive Him in true faith. Theme: Only by faith in Christ can we have perfect payment for sin, righteousness, and holiness.
1. Though we break all God's commands, God gives us Christ's atonement and righteousness by faith. 2. Without faith, you cannot receive Christ and His righteousness.
