Exegesis: We are confronted with the gospels of grace and works. The true gospel has its origin in God's love for us, His church (v. 6a); the false gospel has its origin in our inherent hatred for God (vv. 6v-7a). We are confronted with the gospels of heaven and hell. The false gospel seeks to deceive us (v. 7b); the true gospel always triumphs for us (vv. 8-9). We are confronted with the gospels of God and man. The false gospel seeks to reduce us to being people-pleasers (v. 10a); the true gospel always exalts us to being Christ-pleasers (v. 10b).
