Aim: To live for Christ, by serving to enhance the faith of others.
Doctrine: Those with grace will gladly labor to forward the faith of others, because this edifies the church, so that she will reach the world.
Exegesis: The value of faith (as seen in service rendered to it): faith is worth whatever death (vv. 17-18), minister (vv. 19-21), and loss (vv. 22-24) it may require.
Further application: The attitudes we should have about enhancing faith (in others): let us recognize that nothing else (ultimately) matters, and let us employ our gifts for the salvation of others.
Key verse: v. 17 ''Yes, and if I am being poured out as a drink offering on the sacrifice and service of your faith, I am glad and rejoice with you all.''
