The seriousness of sin against God who is holy and just demands the payment for sin by those who have rejected God's mercy offered through Jesus Christ. As the time comes for the seventh seal to open, the solemnity of the even is heightened by silence in heaven for a brief period of time. Then the next series of judgments begin, known as the 'trumpet' judgments. During the tribulation many will become believers and suffer martyrdom by the earth dwellers. The prayers of those who have prayed for God's vindication will have their prayers answered by God's judgment as He pours out His holy vengeance during this time.
