Aim: To mature in our use of the mind of Christ within us.
Doctrine: The mind of Christ is diametrically opposite of that of our flesh; and yet, our new self is given it (and called to it), and our blessedness will depend on it (developing in us).
Exegesis: The nature of the mind of Christ: it is actually imitable (by the church) (v. 5); it is free of self-exaltation (and -adulation) (vv. 6-7); it is willing to please God (in the extremity) (v. 8).
Further application: How to unleash the mind of Christ: first, begin to think in miraculous ways; then, begin to value what is really important.
Key verse: v. 5 ''Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus...''
