With AI able to program itself and its ability to market products and ideas, AI has become the unseen hand that controls how we think. Machines are programmed to govern us. AI has "learned" to connect to people emotionally. It has learned to express emotion and has successfully convinced some programmers that AI has developed consciousness and feelings. Machines are so good at expressing emotion, people can become emotionally sympathetic to them and care about them as they would another human.
