I have to point out that in the very scripture you referenced, the workers agreed to a certain pay for a certain period of time. they went into the vineyard for one day for one penny. they didn't say hey master.. we like your vineyard so much that we are willing to work for one penny a day THE REST OF OUR LIVES!!! Even though virtually everything we need is constantly getting more and more expensive. I hope you understand leaving out part of the terms is like leaving out the truth. don't do that brother. I've actually gone on a three month strike before because the multi billion dollar company I work for was trying to get out of paying for retiree benefits and drastically slash wages for new hires . those were the biggest issues. neither of which directly affected any of the union workers who struck with me. fifteen thousand of us .. don't leave out part of the scripture. one penny, one day period. Then re-negotiate ..

JJC, Please send me an article that explains the other side. My point in the most recent podcast is that the position of "union boss" (these elected representatives) are not God-ordained positions of authority which must be obeyed. Instead, the "master" is the school administrator. Christians should not strike. If a Christian does not like their wages or working conditions they should resign or trust in God to provide more wages. Can you imagine me telling my church I will not preach again until you pay me more or lighten my work load or provide new carpet for my office or stop expecting so much from me? I am well aware of incompetent teachers in NY which are on the payroll and the union protects them from being dismissed. The truth is the war in Iraq and Afghanistan is a contributor to at least 1.4 trillion of the debt according to some estimates and the military does waste money. Presently millions perhaps billions of dollars are unaccounted for from both regions. As a taxpayer that makes me angry and those responsible for the mismanagement should be held responsible. Just like you should be angry that millions of dollars are wasted in NY school districts and incompetent teachers are protected from being dismissed because of union rules. Please do more research into the way uni

I feel hurt and offended the way you portrayed teachers to be greedy and not "trusting" in God for provision. I think you are not accurately informing your listeners of the larger issues at stake. The way you stated that the union is the primary failure of education made me feel .....probrably the way you would feel Paster Sean if someone stated that our military involvement is the reason for our trillion dollars of wasteful debt ! Please check out the state "mandates" for education and THEIR exorborent costs. Please do not mislead the public about this strike when you focus primarily on the teachers' salaries . I respect you as a man of God and your idea of discussing the issues of whether Christians should strike but was dissapointed in once again, the villainization of teacher unions.

I'm not saying I disagree, but I don't necessarily agree either. I work for a company with a union, and the company agree to start business with a union based contract. What you must remember is the fact that, as a union member I vote union representatives into office to represent me just like I vote presidents and mayors to represent me in my city/country. When I vote those representatives into office they are my authority. They are my representation. The company and the union are both over me. It is the union that agreed to work for the company and the company that agreed to work with the union. Praise the Lord we have never had a strike, and hopefully we never do, I am happy with what I make, but if the elected union decideds to strike and I decide to cross the picket line, then I'm refusing to submit the very authority that I elected in during a democratic type of vote
