In 1973, due to internal politics, the American Psychiatric Association voted to remove homosexuality from its list of illnesses. Since then a process of normalization has culminated in federally-approved same-sex unions. This lecture aims to go beyond the politics, to consider the lives involved--people often used as pawns in politics. Using research from Dr. Jeffrey Satinover and also a biblical framework, the lecture asks what is homosexuality, what is its cause, and what are its implications for the nation? In answering these questions, strong hope is given to the individual through faith in Jesus Christ.
