In this time frame four men are taking their stand for the Lord. Daniel is serving in the palace in Babylon while Ezekiel is down in the trenches with the captives. Over in Jerusalem, Jeremiah cries out for repentance but the people won't do it. The fourth man is Habakkuk. God has shown him what is to come and as a result the prophet spent the first two chapters of his book having a conversation with God about what is going to happen very soon. As the third chapter opens we see that the prophet has been thinking about what all God has said to him. And upon further review he has come to realize that God is right and that he still even at this late date needs to warn those around him of the coming judgment. He realized there was still time to save as many as possible, and so it is even for us today. Habakkuk saw that God has blessed him with the talent to get the job done and that like us he needed to be willing to go and be about God's business. Most of all he saw the take away in all this, the big picture that the world has turned a blind eye to, sin is still sin and God is still in control.
