I read the obituary column in the newspaper several times a week; quite often there are words there reflecting on the life of a man or woman that I have known. Death is a time to magnify the grace of God and so does Job in our text. Job discusses his words to be recorded and preserved; his righteous soul is weighed down with the heavy revelation of this scripture. There are no sweeter words to any saint than these, "...my redeemer liveth..."; that was Job's hope despite his losses, his affliction, and the actions of his supposed friends. What a blessed reminder of our Savior's accomplishment and of the believer's trust is found in these words.
