Once again it is our great privilege as the people of God to come to the Lord's Supper. This is a privilege that is extended to the children of God and to them alone, and it is our Lord's designated time to remember His death, and to reflect upon its great significance in our lives. I am going to continue our present sermon series on The Servant of the Lord. We are working from the “Servant Songs” that are found in the book of Isaiah. In the sermon today I want to build on the previous sermons, now considering the Servant and His office. The Servant has been prepared for His ministry by Jehovah Himself, and will eventually be thrust into His unique “prophetic” office. This servant song reveals how this came about, and why His ministry will be so effective. This humble Servant was indeed “The prophet” of Jehovah! May God grant us great insight into our blessed Savior, and may we come to the Lord's Supper in a profitable and edifying manner.
