Gal 6:7-8 Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, this he will also reap. For the one who sows to his own flesh will from the flesh reap corruption, but the one who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life.
God give us this immutable truth: If you only give your resources to feed your fleshly (sinful) desires you lose any rewards that Christ might have handed out to you at the Bema Seat. (1Cor 3:15) That is, if we simply earn wood, hay and stubble they will all burn up in the judgment. 1 Cor 3 speaks mostly of exercising your God given gifts for the good of the Church. This verse in the present context though speaks of financial and human sustenance being provided to the Church and the workers therein. So then, one cannot turn up his/her nose so to speak at God. Because he will always extract what He needs from us; for Vengeance belongs to Him. (Deut 32:35; Ps 94:1 etc.)
God is also telling us not to just “feed the flesh” because that will become corrupt and die but, that we should sow or give to the work of the Spirit because that produces eternal rewards. Jesus told a rather obscure parable that demonstrated this principal.(The Unjust Steward)
