New Heart, New Spirit_30 Ezekiel 34:1-31 God Saving His People from Bad Leaders. The Lord moves the narrative carefully away from the story of judgment and toward a story of restoration. What God tore apart in Chapters 1-32 He now explains how He will restore in Chapters 33-48Ezekiel gives us a Picture of God Saving His People from Bad Leaders. Bad leadership damages any organization or nation. The very least damage that bad leaders do is to slow down growth or impede progress. However, bad leaders also usually damage the lives of people. They cause hurt, injury, loss, and in some cases destruction and death. Only occasionally did a good leader appear on the scene. Any leader who took the throne of Israel should have cared for and protected the people. But with few exceptions, most exploited and abused them. But in this message the LORD also has a wonderful promise for the discouraged, despondent exiles. The Babylonian army had totally destroyed their nation and crushed any hope they had of returning to their homeland. However, a day was coming when God would return His people to the promised land and give them a Good Shepherd. In this passage the LORD gives His people the greatest hope ever given to the human race.A shepherd sacrifices a lot to care for a flock of defenseless sheep.
