While the widows offering of everything she had in the world - two tiny coins - might not seem to make sense or be of any value to worldlings, Christ teaches that what she did in making that sacrifice of love to God was worth far more than the empty offerings of men who give only from their excess.
There is certainly a lesson here for the modern church!
