Citing Isaiah 45, the Christ hymn in Philippians 2 climaxes with, "...at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father." This is a stunning declaration of Christ's deity, which remained veiled during His humiliation. When Christ returns, He will finally bring all things under His subjection. On that day, no knee will remain unbent and no mouth will remain silent. In the presence of God's unveiled glory, the only words one will be able to utter are, "Jesus Christ is LORD!" Having subjected all things to the will of God, Christ will then present this kingdom of righteousness to the Father (1 Cor 15:24).
