We describe ourselves as a congregation committed to the spread of the Gospel, but it is important to define what that means including what it means to be saved, what we are saved from and why Jesus had to die for our sins.
Evangelism is bringing the good news that Christ saves sinners, and this Gospel is the common thread running throughout the whole of the scriptures. It begins with God's covering the nakedness of Adam and Eve and promising that the seed of the woman would crush the head of the serpent culminating in the work of Jesus on the cross. The preaching of this Gospel is to be done both by the ordained preachers and by all those who embrace that Gospel. In the sharing of our faith it is vitally important that the objective truth of the accomplished work of Christ take precedence over the subjective experience of our lives; this serves to bring the Lord greater glory while diminishing the self righteous claims of man.
The essence of our message begins with the claim that there is a holy God that men have offended by Adam's fall and our continued rebellion. Yet, the offer of the gospel goes out freely promising that Christ by his obedient life, substitutionary death and resurrection makes atonement for all who believe.
