In our passage today, Paul, Barnabas, and Titus travel to Jerusalem to speak with the Apostles and churches in regards to the gospel that he was preaching to the Gentiles. While on this trip, Paul explained his gospel and did not budge from it even when false brethren came in and tried to add adherence to the law in order to gain salvation. Paul stood in the liberty of the Lord Jesus, and the pillars of the church, Peter, James, and John, extended their right hand of fellowship. Paul would be sent to the uncircumcision while Peter would preach to the circumcision, but it was the same gospel delivered by Christ to the Apostles. Both Paul and Peter lined up in defense of the everlasting gospel.
