Peter gave aid to the Judaizers with his actions. If Jewish Christians still lived like Jews, could they fellowship with Gentile Christians? Paul answered this question in the affirmative. The visitors coming from Jerusalem did not think so. So, Peter had obliged them. He stopped eating with Gentile believers. Because of who he was, Peter led other Jewish believers into the same error. Even Barnabas thought Peter was right. Paul was filled with righteous indignation over this. He saw it as hypocrisy. He saw it as an attack on the truth of the Gospel.
