When we bow our hearts and heads, Jesus taught his disciples in Matthew 6:9 saying, “After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.” When Jesus introduced His disciples to His Father in teaching them to pray, this was revolutionary. God has eternally existed as one God in three persons—the Trinity. When we pray, we have the privilege of calling out to God as Father. In Aramaic, the word for father is Abba. It is the equivalent of our English word, “Daddy or Papa.” This demonstrates headship, intimacy, and family.
