It is good to give thanks to the Lord, and to sing praises to your Name, O Most High (Psalm 92: 1)! This psalm is a song of praise to God for all that He is, and all that He has done. God will fulfill all of His great purpose and will—that is, that He should be our God, and that we should be His people (Revelation 21: 3). This psalm also teaches us specifically how we are to give thanks. We all need to learn how to pray better (cf., Luke 11:1). When we practice the giving of thanks in our prayers we will pray with the very words and heart of the Spirit of God.
