INTRODUCTION: This story in Samuel occurred at the latter years of the time of the judges. During this time, every man did that which is right in his own eyes. Yet, as in the days of Noah, there were some exceptions. Through one man (Elkanah) who remained faithful and one woman (Hannah) who cried out to God with all her heart, God brought a man into the world who would begin to bring Israel back to God and glory. That man was Samuel.
