In contrast to the instant gratification our age demands, God calls us to long-term faithfulness and fruitfulness. Rather than demand instant results we are told to wait on the LORD. Instead of simply looking for the next thrill or adrenaline rush we are called to set our minds on eternity. Genesis 25 closes the story of Abraham's life. On the surface it doesn't seem to be a very exciting chapter, filled with unfamiliar names and places. But the chapter is a very fitting end to the life of Abraham as we will see. It is a testimony to God's long-term faithfulness. It also calls us to seek long-term faithfulness and dominion. We will look at Genesis 25:1-18 in 2 parts: 1. God Calls Us to Long Term Faithfulness, verses 1-11 2. God's Faithfulness to Ishmael Shows His Faithfulness to Us, verses 12-18
