Jethro and Moses. Exodus 18:9-11,14-21;Deuteronomy 1:13,15; Proverbs 9:9. Mentoring in the life of Moses.. Learning from others shortens the time frame and lessens the pain and frustration . Wise individuals let others go through the stress and learn from their experiences .We need three types of people in our lives: friends (those who walk alongside us whom we can mutually support and encourage) mentors (those who share wisdom and life lessons and challenge us to grow and fulfill our potential), and those we mentor (those we support, invest in, and challenge to grow just as others have done for us) .As we have been mentored, we can do the same for someone else . Everyone can profit from the wisdom and experience of others .): Moses, the great Israelite leader of the exodus out of Egypt, profited from a mentoring relationship with his father-in-law, Jethro, in the early years of the journey out of Egypt .We strengthen our relationships as we help one another walk wisely and in step with Christ . As the body of Christ, we are to support one another in being the men and women God called us to be .
