Jesus concludes his Sermon on the Mount with a simple comparison/contrast involving two builders and two houses. The wise man digs deep to bedrock, and builds his house on a solid foundation. The fool builds on the sand -- with no foundation whatsoever. A storm strikes, rain pours, winds blow and a flash flood slams into the house. The first house stands firm, because it has a foundation. The other house collapse in a great crashing catastrophe. Anyone who hears the words of Jesus and does them will be able to withstand the storms of life. But those who hear and refuse to obey, they will collapse when those storms strike.
