Dearly beloved congregation of our Lord Jesus Christ, our text this morning is not about dieting, as cool as that would be. Instead, it is about something far cooler, far more important, and far more rewarding. Essentially, the point that the text before us makes is that the righteous will be satisfied, but the wicked will hunger eternally. The text lays this out in two sections. The first describes the company along life's pathway, and briefly hints at the destination you will reach depending on which set of companions you choose. The second compares the moral and material aspects of hunger and heritage for the righteous and the wicked. The righteous leaves a moral and material heritage; the wicked forfeits a material heritage, and leaves not a moral heritage but an immoral one. So be righteous in Christ, because the righteous will be eternally satisfied, while the wicked will hunger forever.
